There are many cars in the world, but only 10 most expensive cars. Only the rich can afford them, and they will definitely drive you crazy if you think about how much money each of these vehicles costs. The average price of one of these cars is $1 million, with the highest reaching more than $10 million! So let’s take a look at the top 10 most expensive cars in the world, shall we? Here they are:
1) Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita
$4.8 million : This Swedish sports car is known for its lightness, given that its bodywork consists of carbon fiber and not much else. It has a top speed of over 240 mph and a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds. It can go from 0 to 186 mph (300 km/h) in less than 20 seconds. This model was created by Christian von Koenigsegg, who founded his eponymous company in 1994 at age 24 to design high-performance sports cars with an emphasis on lightweight technologies such as carbon fiber and supercharging.
2) Maybach Exelero
$4 million: The Maybach Exelero was a concept car designed by Mercedes-Benz. Introduced at the 2003 North American International Auto Show, it featured gull-wing doors, similar to those found on the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. In 2004, they sold only two cars and production stopped.
3) Lykan HyperSport
The most expensive car, which was released in 2013, costs about $3.4 million. Its creator is a Lebanese company called W Motors and it’s made entirely of carbon fiber. It can reach top speeds of 240 miles per hour and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. It features diamonds on its head lights and LED displays on both sides of its body that give it holographic capabilities for an extra cool look when you are driving around town! This cars looks like something from a sci-fi movie! Does anyone out there have $3.4 million lying around to buy it?! I don’t think so! Yet, people actually buy these cars... Crazy, right?
4) Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse
Bugatti Veyron was produced by Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., a company that manufactures supercars and high-performance sports cars from its headquarters in Molsheim, France. It has been described as the world's most powerful, fastest, most expensive production car by Guinness Book of Records. The 2013 version costs about $2.6 million. At that price, it would cost almost a quarter of a million dollars to fill up if you drove it nonstop for 31 years! But really... how many people can afford to buy even one luxurious car, much less 10 of them? The fact that there are even ten of these cars might sound unbelievable. Consider then, if they were all gathered together into one location at once... unimaginable!
5) Lamborghini Veneno Roadster
The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster was introduced to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary. The price of $4.5 million USD (before taxes) makes it number 1 on our list of Top 10 most expensive cars. The vehicle weighs just 2922 pounds and has a V12 engine with 740 horsepower, making it 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 221 mph. It has a carbon fiber body and seats two people – very fast, very exclusive, very expensive! #1 /Lamborghini Veneno Roadster/ Price: $4.5 million USD.
6) Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio
$3.8 million : Sergio made its debut at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering as a concept car. It was inspired by 1950s Pininfarina Ferrari race cars and Sergio’s heritage shines through with three-time Formula One world champion Niki Lauda on board as an advisor. However, it didn’t take long for Sergio to move beyond its concept car roots into something that could feasibly hit showrooms if Ferrari decided to do so, though it won’t be mass produced. At $3.8 million a pop, Ferrari would be crazy not to make a small number of them available once they go on sale sometime next year... assuming all 250 have already been sold by then, that is!
7) Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss
$1.15 Million: Despite being relatively affordable when compared to other cars on our list, The Stirling Moss was designed by none other than Sir William Lyons and has a very loyal following among both car collectors and classic car enthusiasts. It boasts a top speed of 217 miles per hour, but only 3,070 units were produced between 2003 and 2010. That rarity alone makes it more valuable than others on our list, even if it didn’t have as much horsepower as several of them did. To find out which made number one on our list of expensive cars in the world check out number ten!
8) Zenvo ST1 Supercar
It boasts a twin-supercharged 8.0 liter V8 pumping out 1244 horsepower and 940 pound-feet of torque, four carbon ceramic disc brakes and a 0 to 60 time of 2.9 seconds, making it not only our pick for best performance car but also a record setter for most expensive ($1.7 million) production car ever made (as tested). Talk about bang for your buck! The ST1 supercar is Danish designer Kristian von Bengtson’s (who happens to be C.E.O.) idea of what an ultimate performance machine should be: Supercar acceleration without a supercar price tag... at least if you buy it new!
9) Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro
$3.5 million : Carbon fiber, 800 horsepower and a top speed of 220 miles per hour. The Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro puts nearly every other supercar to shame (even some of those more than twice its price). This thing belongs on a racetrack – well away from police radar. There’s an old adage: You can have it fast...or you can have it cheap. Sadly, nobody got into car-making for charity work; by that logic, we guess we should just resign ourselves to window shopping for now.
10) Bugatti Chiron
At a cool $2.6 million, few cars are as expensive as Bugatti's stunning Chiron. Named after famous race driver Louis Chiron, its streamlined body reduces drag and allows it to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. The car also boasts 1,500 horsepower and a top speed of 261 miles per hour (420 km/h). The Chiron was so powerful that it cracked Germany's Autobahn speed limit when tested at Volkswagen's Ehra-Lessien test track—clocking an astounding 267 miles per hour (430 km/h) while reaching 60 mph (97 km/h) in only 2.5 seconds.
